Since 2012, Catherine Hernandez Hogan has had the privilege of supporting college students from all over the world through recruitment, admissions, programming, early intervention, and inclusive excellence efforts. She received her Bachelors of Science in Social Work from Cedarville University and her Masters of Education in Student Affairs and Higher Education from Wright State University.

In her current role, directing the Wright State University Latino Center, Catherine seeks to recruit, retain, empower, graduate, and advance Latino/Hispanic students. Whether it be through teaching the Latino, Si Se Puede First Year Seminar Course, raising funds to support Latino student scholarships, running the Latino Success Peer Mentorship program, advising the Amigos Latinos Student Association, or pioneering programs like the Latino Center Summer Program, Catherine is a force to be recon with.

In her first year directing the WSU Latino Center, Catherine was able to help increase enrollment of new Hispanic/Latino students at Wright State University by 13%. In 2023, the Ohio Commission on Hispanic/Latino Affairs (OCHLA) honored her with a Distinguished Hispanic Ohian Award for outstanding achievements in supporting the Latino community at Wright State University and the surrounding communities. She is on the board of the El Puente Learning Center and is currently working with the Latino Medical Student Association at Boonshoft School of Medicine to increase access to health care by providing FREE, monthly, bilingual wellness clinics specifically for the Latino communities in East and North Dayton. She is constantly working to break the glass ceiling for Latino/Hispanic students by sharing again and again that that they belong on campus, that they matter, that they have what it takes to succeed at the university, that they should not be afraid to ask for help, and that by getting their college degree, they can impact their families for generations.
