Research statement:

My interests include improving the way students think about science and improving how we teach science in K-12. I work with both in-service science teachers and college pre-service elementary, middle and high school students. My focus is on inquiry-based curriculum and scientific practices that engage students in evidence-based lessons, build on prior experiences and enable clear scientific principled-outcomes. My attempts to align curriculum goals and learning performances are embedded in the Next Generation Science Standards.
