Ashutosh Ghimire, M.Sc.
Ashutosh Ghimire is a Ph.D. student at the SMART Cybersecurity Research Lab at Wright State University, Dayton, Ohio, USA. He earned his Master of Science in Computer Science from Wright State University and his Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Engineering from Tribhuvan University, Nepal. After completing his Master's degree, Ashutosh worked as a Research Associate I for one year, where he contributed significantly to cutting-edge research at the intersection of AI and cybersecurity. During this time, he collaborated with academic and industry experts to explore innovative solutions in software security, machine learning, and hardware-based security systems.
His research interests focus on AI for software security, secure and privacy-aware AI hardware, and side-channel analysis. Additionally, his work delves into trustworthy AI, explainable AI, adversarially resilient AI, and the application of AI for drug discovery and signal processing. Ashutosh has co-authored several publications in prestigious journals and conferences, including IEEE ISVLSI and MWSCAS, where his work has received widespread recognition for its relevance and impact.
In 2025, he was awarded the Graduate Student Excellence Award from Wright State University for his outstanding academic and research contributions.
With a solid foundation in software engineering and research, Ashutosh has developed expertise in various technical areas, including Python, TensorFlow, Keras, Go Lang, Kubernetes, and FPGA-based implementations. His previous experience as a software engineer included developing RESTful APIs, optimizing system performance, and applying machine learning techniques to enhance hardware security and data analysis.
