Research Areas and Description:                                                      
Dr. Entriken spent a year of dedicated research in the lab of Dr. Timothy A. Pritts at the University of Cincinnati. Her main focus was the investigation of the red blood cell storage lesion in whole blood, a constellation of detrimental biochemical changes that occur as blood ages.  Her work included the evaluation of additives to whole blood to attenuate the storage lesion and reduce harmful inflammatory substances. She presented her findings at the Shock Society 44th Annual Conference. In addition to her biochemical research, she also performed and published a review of perioperative pulmonary support in elderly patients as well as a study exploring the types and rate of complications of splenic artery embolization in trauma patients.
