Lowdy Laker is the official mascot of Wright State University—Lake Campus. The mascot supports the university at campus events, athletic contests, and through friendly interaction with students, staff, faculty, alumni, and community members.

Lowdy had been lurking in Grand Lake St. Marys until officially emerging in 2024. Celina residents had reported seeing a mythical creature in the lake as far back as 1912.

Since moving from the dark waters to Wright State’s welcoming campus, Lowdy has become skilled at high-fiving, dancing, strutting, cheering, taking selfies with students, jamming to music, and intimidating Lake Campus opponents.

Of course, even mythical creatures have preferences.
