Mark D. Anderson, M.I.S.
Mark Anderson is the Director of Marketing at Wright State University, a public research university in Dayton, Ohio, named after the Wright brothers.
In 2015, Mark received the President's Award for Excellence in the Spirit of Innovation category at Wright State University. Mark was a member of the selective inaugural 2016 class of Wright Leader Academy. He completed the Certificate in Disruptive Strategy program from Harvard Business School in 2017. The Office of Marketing was awarded a 2024 Golden Spoke Award for going above and beyond in making Wright State a more inclusive and welcoming environment to students with disabilities.
Mark joined Wright State University in 1997 through the Boonshoft School of Medicine, where he held multiple positions before transitioning to the Office of Marketing in 2011. His professional background provides experience in disciplines including leadership, management, marketing, web development, analytics, agile methodology, teaching, video production, and design.
Mark earned an undergraduate degree in Visual Communications Technology from Bowling Green State University in 1996, and a Master of Information Systems from the Raj Soin College of Business at Wright State University in 2009. He is a broad learner and avid reader of books on emotional intelligence, marketing, economics, psychology, technology, and innovation.
Mark strives to develop and implement shared vision within teams. He enjoys projects that focus on the end user, process improvement, data-driven decision making, iteration, and refinement.
In addition to his career in academia, Mark is interested in personal finance and investing. He has been investing in individual stocks since 1998. When not behind a computer or in a meeting, Mark will see you on the pickleball court.
