Neal M. Snow earned his doctorate in accounting at the University of South Florida, and a master’s and bachelor’s in accounting at Utah State University. His research interests include, firm benchmarking, communication channels, crowdfunding, text analysis, content analysis, XBRL, machine learning, deep learning and design science. He has published in the Review of Finance (FT 50, ABDC A*), Journal of Accounting Auditing and Finance, Accounting & Taxation, along with several articles in the leading accounting information systems journal the Journal of Information Systems. His research has been featured in IR Magazine, the Yale School of Management website and the Lehigh Research Review. In a 2025 worldwide ranking of accounting researchers, Snow is ranked the top 25 for experimental accounting information systems research and top 40 for experimental financial research.

Currently he is an Editorial Board Member for the International Journal of Accounting Information Systems.

Before joining Wright State University, Snow worked at BlackRock as a Data Science Researcher in Princeton, NJ. Before earning his doctorate, he worked at Deloitte in Houston, and Goldman Sachs and Co. in New York, London and Salt Lake City. He has a taught a variety of courses including Data Analytics for Accountings (using Python), Accounting Information Systems, Introduction to Financial Accounting, financial and managerial MBA courses, as well as technical courses on Python, SQL and data science while at BlackRock.
