Peter G. Michaelson, MD
Dr. Michaelson’s practice includes all facets of Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery. He performs a wide range of surgical procedures, with a focus on rhinology and sinus procedures as well as a multitude of facial plastic surgeries. Dr. Michaelson is a Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Air Force, a Flight Surgeon, and has been Chief of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery at Wright Patterson Air Force Base since 2008. He is also Chief of the Division of Otolaryngology of the Boonshoft School of Medicine at Wright State University.
Dr. Michaelson is board certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery. He is also an Assistant Professor of Surgery at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences as well as a Clinical Assistant Professor with Boonshoft School of Medicine at Wright State University. He has authored over a dozen papers published in peer-reviewed journals, authored multiple book chapters, has chaired seminars at international meetings, and has had the honor of appearing on prime time national news broadcasts to discuss some of his groundbreaking work on sleep disorders.
Dr. Michaelson received his undergraduate degree from the United States Air Force Academy, and then served as a physicist before returning to medical school at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Maryland, where he graduated with the Outstanding Medical Student Award. He completed his residency in San Antonio, Texas and then was assigned to Wright Patterson Air Force Base.
Dr Michaelson is an avid outdoorsman and cherishes the time he spends with his wife and children.
He is staff at Wright Patterson Medical Center, Children’s Medical Center, Kettering Medical Center and Southview Hospital.
