My research interests center around substance use epidemiology and behavioral research, with a current focus on two high priority areas—1) illicit opioid use epidemic which is contributing to unprecedented overdose mortality in the country, and 2) cannabis use trends in the context of rapidly evolving marijuana legalization policies.  My research approach builds on interdisciplinary collaborations and integrates diverse methodologies, ranging from community-based recruitment of active illicit drug users to social media and cryptomarket data collection and big data analytics.
