Dr. Gerardo spent 2 years of dedicated research with the Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center Department of Pediatric General and Thoracic Surgery under Dr. Todd Ponsky. During that time, Dr. Gerardo published multiple articles and book chapters, presented several podium presentations at surgical conferences, worked with a team of engineers to patent a medical device, and hosted a weekly podcast that highlighted pediatric surgical topics. His work producing educational content lead to an appointment as the social media editor for the Journal of Pediatric Surgery and a faculty podium presentation at the International Pediatric Endosurgery Group annual meeting.
