Vinnie Marshall
Vinnie Marshall received a B.A. degree in Political Science with a minor in Psychology from Moravian College (Now Moravian University) in Bethlehem Pennsylvania from 1980-1983. He received an Ina Love Thursday music scholarship for non-majors to perform with any group needing a bassist. He studied upright bass with Domenic Fiore and electric bass with Dr, Frank DiBussolo,
Upon graduating Vinnie auditioned for the USAF Band program and enlisted in the United States Air Force. From Oct 1983 to Oct 2007 Vinnie served his country performing Bass with the Air Foce Band of the East New Jersey, Band of Mid-America Scott AFB Illinois, USAF Band of the Pacific in Japan and the USAF Band of Flight at Wright-Patterson AFB. During his time in the USAF Band program he performed for President Ronald Reagan, Vice President Al Gore, UN Ambassador Thomas Pickering, UN Ambassador Pearl Bailey, Ambassador to Japan Walter Mondale and Tom Foley. He also performed wirh Bob Hope, Vic Damone, George Kirby, Anne Gillian, and Brooke Sheilds. In 2004 Vinnie was sent to Southwest Asia to perform for Troops in Iraq, Afghanistan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Djibouti Africa in support of Operation Enduring Freedom,. In January of 2007 Vinnie was part of the detail and support for President Gerald Ford's Funeral in Grand Rapids Michigan. Vinnie retired in 2007 continuing to perform in the Dayton Area. In 2023 he began teaching on the faculty at Wright State Univeristy.
